Female Cardinal

Item DSC-8608- Females are pale brown overall with warm reddish tinges in the wings, tail, and crest. They have the same black face and red-orange bill. Image was captured at my residence in western Rowan County. Nikon D810 camera with Nikon 600mm lens. ISO 2200, f6.3, @1/2000 second. I used a tripod to capture this image. It had just stopped snowing. The snow on the ground acted like a giant reflector bouncing light underneath her body eliminating any shadows.
